Twisted: Volume One is the first of three, soon to be four, books of well-crafted short stories by J.B.Forsyth, in which nothing is as it should be. The stories are powerful and haunting, with a sinister twist from the author's dark imagination.
The five chilling fantasy stories are all set in and around Scarborough, with the sea and beach playing a leading part in the first, middle and last of the tales. The remaining two feature a scary bookshop and a man with an unusual and creepy superpower respectively. Reading this book sent shivers down my spine, without anything much being explicitly horrific. The author skilfully leads the reader along his chosen route that is truly 'twisted'.
I would really recommend anyone who enjoys this genre to read this brilliant book.
