The second in the story following Sister Pelagia finds her investigating the murders of several monks on a monastery island. Pelagia is such a likeable character and Akunin’s historical knowledge gives brilliant depth to the book. Great characters are littered throughout and the twists and turns keep you guessing right to the end.
