Dessen sukzessiven Stadien entsprechen die Grundbegriffe und Hauptthesen der verschiedenen, einander ausschliessenden metaphysischen Theorien, die in der Philosophiegeschichte entwickelt worden sind und entwickelt werden konnten (und noch konnen). Die Anfangskapitel der Phanomenologie des Geistes und dann vor allem die Wissenschaft der Logik sowie Hegels Stellung in der Philosophiegeschichte werden vor diesem Hintergrund unter verschiedenen Fragestellungen beleuchtet.
