The Whispering Gallery of Europe, which was first published in 1938, comprised the personal records and opinions of a man who had been close to matters of international moment. Politics were an absorbing interest to the author and he has made this book a very vital record.General A. C. Temperley was one of the chief British representatives at Geneva during the ten years of discussions on disarmament and during this period he was military adviser to four Foreign Secretaries.
