There’s something very appealing about Gino D’Acampo’s approach to food, it is after all his passion and this shows through in this tour of Italy taking in both classic and new dishes - not forgetting the food that Mama used to make. Really, it’s one of those cooking books one would be happy to start in on page one and continue till the last coffee and biscotti at the end. Its good food, unfussy, no endless hours in the kitchen – well, perhaps one hour - but then - the results will be worth every minute.
Join Gino as he heads back to his roots in Naples, the land of limoncello and al fresco dining. Having grown up in southern Italy and been raised on its food, Gino is our passionate guide to the delights of Italian cuisine. Including 100 mouth-watering recipes - such as Insalata caprese, Bruschetta al pomodoro, Penne all'Arrabbiata, Mozzarella in Carrozza, Neapolitan Ice Cream, and the one true pizza...the Margherita -Gino's Italy will reveal the secrets of Italian cooking.
Born in Torre del Greco, Naples, in southern Italy, Gino D'Acampo inherited his grandfather's love of cooking and studied at the Luigi de Medici Catering College. Gino appears regularly on TV, most recently in Gino's Italian Escape and Let's Do Lunch with Gino and Mel, and as a resident chef on ITV's This Morning.
