The book consists of a novella entitled The Beach of Fales, a narrative of a South sea trader who is tricked into marriage; it is said to have influenced Joseph Conrad in writing Heart of Darkness. Also included are the short stories The Bottle Imp, and The Isle of Voicesboth magical tales of the South Seas that are sure to delight.
