LoveReading Says

LoveReading Says

Ancient magic swirls through this novel which is set in 1885 and thoroughly enjoys Egypt as its playground. This is the conclusion of the Secrets of the Nile Duology which started with LoveReading Star Book What The River Knows. I would definitely recommend beginning with the first novel, it shimmers with adventure and leads straight into Where the Library Hides. Inez knows betrayal all too well, yet still decides to follow her heart when she needs to solve her family mystery. A cast of the characters, map, and timeline of Egypt help settle you back into this land. Inez is an absolutely fascinating main character, both she and Whit tell their own stories, and while elements of his background and reasoning remain hidden, Inez is an open book. The different perspectives allow access to their innermost thoughts while still creating a clever layer of intrigue. Author Isabel Ibanez has formed a wider cast of characters who are not only fascinating, it is difficult to know who you can trust. The adventure is dramatic and tense, the romance is tantalising, and the sense of place and time absolutely enthralling. While these two novels have been written for younger adults, they are most definitely accessible for all adults and so this novel joins its sister as a LoveReading Star Book, and Liz Pick of the Month. Captivating and stimulating, Where the Library Hides is a beautifully magical adventure we can highly recommend.
