Humanitarian Engineering Synopsis

This will be a multi-contributed reference work, that will detail the latest research and developments in humanitarian engineering from a biomedical perspective. Contributions will be made by world class scientists and researchers from across the globe. These individuals are actively involved with discovering and creating solutions in addressing a wide variety of health and disease concerns pertaining to the enormous challenges facing many people primarily in Low/Middle Income (and now European) and homeless populations in many of the world's largest cities.

Key Features:

• Presents the challenges and opportunities of humanitarian engineering

• Introduces biomedical engineers, radiation oncology health professionals, primary care givers and other health professionals to humanitarian engineering principles.

• Case studies will be incorporated where appropriate, demonstrating in-field clinical treatments to disadvantaged populations. 

• Unique coverage of phytomedicine (Cannabis) products in global health. 

• Important topic of 'Street Medicine' to be included. -Each chapter will be designed to be a stand-alone item for appropriate use 

• Provides comprehensive coverage of information and communication technologies (e.g. telemedicine and artificial intelligence (AI) for global health 

• Extensive references will be included at the end of each chapter to enhance further study.
