About

The Embedding Method for Electronic Structure Synopsis

The book will cover the same topics as the first edition, with some additional material. It will derive the embedding method and will describe in detail how this can be applied to non-relativistic and relativistic self-consistent calculations of surface and interface electronic structure. This will be extended to include recent work on topological invariants and topological surface states. Electron transport within embedding theory will be discussed, and there will be more material on transport through magnetic interfaces. As in the first edition, links with other theoretical methods will be discussed, such as Rmatrix theory in atomic physics and dynamic meanfield theory. As in the first edition, the application of embedding to photonics will be treated. The book will also contain a new chapter on Embedding and the many-electron systems.
