I have been reading this American thriller writer for some years, watching her books get better and better and knowing that a truly excellent one would come … well, here it is, her best yet. A mass grave of six young girls is found in the grounds of an abandoned mental hospital, now under re-development. One of the bodies bears a name of a girl, Annabelle Granger, only she is now 30-years old, and has spent her life in hiding. Revelations about the killer, the inmates of the old hospital and Annabelle’s own family and reasons for hiding lead to a great climax in a gripping page-turner.
Comparison: Tess Gerritsen, Karin Slaughter, Tami Hoag.
