LoveReading Says
Fans of romantic, characterful suspense stories are in for a gripping treat with Nora Roberts’ Identity. Giving the topical issue of identity theft a murderous angle, it sees a “former army brat” reconnect with her family, and find new friends (and love) after being conned by a killer.
After finally setting down roots near Baltimore, bartender Morgan manages to make her mortgage payments with the help of her friend and roommate, Nina. Everything changes the day she comes home from work to find Nina murdered by an intruder. In swirling pace, it transpires a man Morgan had trusted is actually a serial killer conman who preys on women, and steals their identities before taking their physical lives.
“What do I do now? Where do I start?” Morgan wonders, her dialogue always crisp, always shifting the plot forward. To her, there’s one answer: “The only choice was to move forward. Move”. Financially ruined, she’s forced to move back to her mother’s home.
Tension escalates when it becomes clear that Morgan was the conman’s real target, with the FBI on his heels while he’s snapping at Morgan’s. At the same time, Morgan is beginning to rebuild her life with her mum and grandmother, while romance also begins to blossom.
The intergenerational aspect of the story was especially well-drawn, adding warmth and depth to a suspenseful thriller.

Identity Synopsis
The brand new novel from global superstar, Nora Roberts
Former army brat Morgan Albright has finally planted roots in a friendly neighbourhood near Baltimore. Her friend and roommate Nina helps her make the mortgage payments, as does Morgan's job as a bartender. But Morgan's life is turned upside down when she returns from work one day to find Nina dead on the floor.
This was no random attack. Nina was murdered by a man Morgan had let into their lives. The man Morgan thought was Luke is actually a cold-hearted con artist named Gavin who targets women, steals their assets and identity, and then commits his ultimate goal: murder.
Morgan is devastated by Nina's death but the nightmare is just beginning. It wasn't Nina but Morgan who was Gavin's intended target, Nina was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Financially ruined by the identity theft, she has no choice but to return to her mother's home in Vermont. Morgan struggles to regain control over her life and build something new - reconnecting with her family, making new friends, even meeting a new man - but Gavin is still out there hunting new victims, and he hasn't forgotten the one who got away....
