Tsuni-Goam Synopsis

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The system of Kapila contains nearly all that India has produced in the department of pure philosophy. The non-orientalist finds in Mr. Davies a patient and learned guide who leads him into the intricacies of the philosophy of India, and supplies him with a clue that he may not be lost in them. In the preface he states that the system of Kapila is the 'earliest attempt on record to give an answer, from reason alone, to the mysterious questions which arise in every thoughtful mind about the origin of the world, the nature and relations of man and his future destiny,' and in his learned and able notes he exhibits 'the connection of the Sankhya system with the philo sophy of Spinoza,' and the connection of the system of Kapila with that of Schopen hauer and Von Hartmann.' -foreign Church Chronicle.
