The book, titled The Child Riddler, was written by Angela Greenman and stars Zoe Lorel as the main character. Wildcat is called upon for the retrieval of a very dangerous weapon from a very nefarious individual called Timeus Mitropoulos. Taking place in Prague, the Czech Republic, this was an operation that pushed wildcats far and beyond in terms of physical strength and psychological strength too. Wildcat retrieves the deadly weapon thanks to her addiction to a certain drug that comes in handy now and then. In the life of an agent where missions are important, it also seems Zoe has a loving side fully devoted to Isabel. Despite distance, workload, and stress, these two have kept their love sacred and burning for a decade. Zoe plans to spend her life with Isabel, but something sinister keeps her sceptical. Zoe, after seeing her uncle laser focused on a former CIA project, becomes uneasy to the extent that she keeps on thinking about it even on her vacation with Isabel in New Mexico. What is Easton really working on, so much so that he is going so far as to dig up the CIA's failed projects? Back to the love life of Zoe: Will their newly intended commitment work against the odds of their overwhelming jobs, or is Zoe sceptical about raising children?
This was an intriguing book with a captivating first chapter that reeled me in immediately. The highly suspenseful narrative flowed at a fast pace with startling and exciting twists and turns. I like how Angela Greenman made ample use of descriptive elements that not only brought the story to life but also elevated its cinematic appeal. The character development was exceptional, with complex personalities whose clear motives made their actions relatable. The main character, Zoe, was very interesting. Her familial bond with her uncle was a picture-perfect plot twist. Zoe understands that dedication and hard work are the core essential values in her line of duty. Her love relationship with Isabel was another monumental plot twist. She fully accepted that their work demands more of their attention, but Zoe still hopes to see through their commitments. To wrap this up, The Child Riddler was a fun, well-written, and enthralling novel that I look forward to seeing on the big screen sometime soon. This is the perfect book for fans of fast-paced thrillers looking for a quick read to pass the time.
