A staple in Christmas stockings all over the land, a Christmas book or two. Whether they’re an avid reader or not, there’s always tons of new reading material available for the men in our life come the festive season. Even for my non-reading dad.

Finding gifts for men can vary in difficulty depending on their interests, personality, voracious reading habits and preferences. Some men may have specific hobbies or passions that make gift-giving that tinsy bit easier, while others might be more challenging to shop for. That’s you dad!

Sports fans are the best. There’s always a plethora of biographies and autobiographies bursting off the shelves this time of year.

Cycling aficionado? You could do no better than the winner of the Sports Book Awards 2024 Cycling Book of the Year 1923 by Ned Boulting. Compelling reading, whether a cycling nut or not. This is a once-in-a-century book and a worthy award winner.

Golf has always been a popular sport, but in recent years, it has been gaining popularity with younger crowds, becoming an enjoyable hobby for many. The Golf Bucket List will introduce both seasoned golfers and young newcomers to new ways to enjoy the game, from tips to improve your golf swing to ideas for crossing ultimate bucket list items like attending the PGA Championship or the US Open. 

If you're looking for something a little more creative, we highly recommend The Accidental Artist by the much-loved Billy Connelly. DIY his thing? In Restore, his first book, The Repair Shop's resident woodworking expert Will Kirk takes you on an inspirational tour of the elements of wood care and restoration, from basic principles and quick fixes around the home to larger projects. 

For fans of the big or little screen, there are some cracking books to keep them sated this Christmas. Stars of the big screen don't come much bigger than Al Pacino and Sonny Boy is his incredible and revelatory autobiography. David Jason delivers This Time Next Year - the brand new, inspirational autobiography from the Only Fools and Horses star and national treasure. And in his first memoir, beloved comedian Bill Bailey shares stories of his life - and the animals he's met along the way in My Animals and Other Animals.

Budding chef? There are plenty of foodie offerings this festive season from Jamie Oliver with Simply Jamie, Supper with Charlie Bigham and Nigel Slater's A Thousand Feasts

Music buff? Never by Rick Astley and A Thousand Threads by Neneh Cherry will take you crashing back to the 80s.
