Doctor Robert G. Lahita is Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a Professor at New York Medical College and the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at St. Joseph's Healthcare System. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Master of the American College of Rheumatology, and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. His research interests are the molecular aspects of antigen expression in response to sex hormones in the autoimmune diseases and the etiopathogenesis of the phospholipid syndrome.

Dr. Lahita is the author of more than 16 books and 150 scientific publications in the field of autoimmunity. He is the editor of the standard textbook called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and the senior editor of the Textbook of Autoimmunity. Dr. Lahita is also the associate editor of the Journal Lupus and co-editor of the Yearbook of Rheumatology. He is also the author of Women and Autoimmune Dis
