John Rae (1813-1893) was an expert doctor and outdoorsman known for surveying parts of the Canadian Arctic while searching for the Northwest Passage, and for his 1854 reports on the Franklin Expedition's fate.
R. Warren James (1916-2004) was a graduate of the University of Toronto and of the University of Chicago. He was employed as a civil servant in various government departments in Ottawa. He was appointed Chief Secretary of the Department of National Defence in 1961.
