Lady Pamela Hicks was born the daughter of the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma in 1929. A cousin and lifelong friend of the Queen, she served first as her bridesmaid and later as a lady-in-waiting, both before and following the Coronation in 1953. Lady Pamela became patron and president of many foundations and cases in the following years. Much like her mother and the Queen, she continued to lead a life of duty and service. In the 1960s she married the legendary designer David Hicks and they settled in Oxfordshire, where Lady Pamela still lives today.
