The Author: Harry Stamelos was born in Athens. He holds an LL.B. (1998) degree from Athens University, a law certificate (1996) from Temple University (USA) in International Maritime Law, and an LL.M. (1999) degree in EU and Maritime Law from Essex University (UK). Since 2000 he is a lawyer of, inter alia, shipping companies in Athens. He is a member of the American Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. He teaches civil law at Athens University (Police Academy).
