Dr. Farhan Saif served as the chairman, department of Electronics, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU, Islamabad) and as the Founding Head of Department of Physics, National University of Science and Technology. He obtained teaching and research experience at the University of Ulm, University of Arizona, University of Sao Paulo (UNESP), and University of Electro Communication, Tokyo. Dr. Saif has received doctorate degree from University of Ulm, Germany in 1998. He has been an Associate Member of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. He served as a professor of department of Physics QAU from 2016 till 2018, and presently serving as a Tenured Professor of Electronics. Dr. Saif's research areas include ultracold atoms and Bose-Einstein condensates in optical fields, quantum computation and quantum information, nano optomechanics, nano-devices, quantum optics and dynamical systems.
