Colita Nichols Fairfax is a professor and Honors College Senior Faculty Fellow at Norfolk State University. She is also co-chairman of the City of Hampton 2019 Commemorative Commission, is a member of the State of Virginia's 2019 Commission's African Arrival Committee, and vice-chairman of the State of Virginia's Board of Historic Resources.
