Chao Ye, male, is a professor and Ph.D. tutor at the School of Geographic Sciences, East China Normal University. He is also a "Young Changjiang Scholar" of the Ministry of Education of China and a distinguished professor at Northwest Normal University and Anhui Jianzhu University. He is mainly engaged in urban and rural development and the production of space, history and methods of geography and cultural geography. He won the second prize of the 13th & 12th Shanghai Decision-making Consultation Achievement Award and the 13th National Youth Geographic Science and Technology Award of China Geographical Society. He has published over 130 papers in famous international journals such as Nature, Science Bulletin, Habitat International, Environmental Research Letters, Journal of Rural Studies as well as some Chinese flag journals.
