Alice Edwards is Lecturer in International Refugee and Human Rights Law at the Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford University. She has previously worked as a legal adviser to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Amnesty International. Carla Ferstman is the Director of REDRESS, an international non-governmental organisation which provides legal support to survivors of torture and related crimes. She has worked as a criminal defence lawyer in Canada and written and lectured extensively on international criminal law and human rights.
