Forbidden: Snow White and the Se7en Deadly Sins
I’m used to demons and voodoo. What I was not prepared for was my life turning into a fairytale, complete with the Wicked Step Mother. My awful step mother is the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. She’s always hated me for being a Succubus. It just got a hundred times worse after my father died mysteriously. I inherited the family company, but I can’t remove her as VP because she’s made the entire board into her zombies. After another board meeting goes her way instead of mine, I decide to blow off a little steam with an intern from accounting. How was I supposed to know my really bad lay was her pet? I couldn’t imagine my step mother giving anyone the time of day unless they have a certain number of zeros behind their net worth. She’s out for blood. She warned me. She sent a shifter to finish me off on a deserted street in the Bywater district. I barely escape with my life. Luckily, I had been on my way to check out a sex dungeon that was under new management. I manage to stumble there, bleeding everywhere. But I haven’t gone through their vetting process and the bouncer is ready to kick me out on my ass. When I come to, I meet the seven new owners. The new owners are actually the Seven Deadly Sins and they are in New Orleans to do some punishing. All seven men want a crack at killing her and she’s still out for my blood. I guess I’m plotting with the Seven Deadly Sins to take out my evil step mother. I’m in totally over my head. Have you ever seen a walking sin? It’s too much even for a Succubus. There are seven of them and I’m falling for all of them. Forbidden is a dark, adult retelling of Snow White. It contains scenes of consensual BDSM and one evil step mother.

Mother Goose in Prose is a collection of twenty-two stories by L. Frank Baum (author of The Wizard of Oz). The stories are based on the Mother Goose nursery rhymes. Mother Goose’s legendary character was that of an older mother and grandmother who spent her days singing songs to her grandchildren and the other children in her town. Though the origins of this myth are disputed, Mother Goose is a classic character in children’s literature, often associated with nursery rhymes, or short poems and lullabies that are easy to recite or sing as lullabies, with loosely veiled references to historical events and figures. This collection of stories was written as a way to give further literary background to common nursery rhymes. Each begins with the original rhyme, followed by Baum’s original story to expand on the characters and events within the popular poems. Some of the rhymes expanded include “Little Boy Blue,” “The Man in the Moon,” “Little Bo-Peep,” “The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe,” and “Little Miss Muffet,” among many others.

Before tonight Cassie Tate's biggest concerns were whether she could pass Algebra and how she was going to keep Elora, her best friend, from dressing her in a skimpy fairy costume for Halloween. Her feet were firmly planted in suburban reality and she had no reason to believe her life would be anything but that of a typical teenager. His life is not his own; he lives in the service of the Dark Elf King. He slays who he must, has mercy on no one, is relentless in his hunt, and never tires of seeing his prey fall. He is Triktapic, assassin, spy, most feared of the Dark Elves. Now, in the midst of his King's complicated plans to expand the Dark Elves' holdings into the mortal realm, for the first time, Trik finds his loyalties divided. For no Elf, Dark or Light, can turn away from their Chosen. Unbeknownst to the mortal realm, the battle between Light and Dark is being brought to their doorstep. The only one who can keep it at bay holds darkness in his heart like a lover, and the one who can sway that heart must decide if she can look beyond his black past, beyond his evil nature and see the man he is destined to be. The questions must be asked, does love really cover a multitude of sins? Can true love actually conquer all or will his darkness consume those around him until all that stands is an assassin with the blood of the mortal realm on his hands?
