"Annabelle’s story continues, but conflict is once again on the horizon."
Available in Kindle and Paperback from Amazon.
‘The Two Wolves’ by Marcus Abston is book three in the A Dying Truth Exposed series. Having followed Annabelle’s story through Book one (Bloodlines) and book two (Standing Against the Wind) I was happy to return to Annabelle’s story and learn more about the family history.
I would recommend reading the other books in this series first as Annabelle has already been on a long and turbulent journey, taking her from being a house servant abused by her master in Mississippi, north to Missouri where she experienced prejudice and loss before settling with her Cherokee family in Tahlequah. However Annabelle and her families’ struggles aren’t over as conflict rears its ugly head once more with the bigoted “agents”. As before, we check in briefly with Albert Brooks and his family before we step back in time to continue the historical narrative. This is a story with ups and downs, with joy as the family expands and harrowing heartbreak as loss, abuse and injustice is piled on the family. There are moments that are hard to read, my heart broke for Lisa’s experiences and the author’s writing gave these moments significant impact. I kept turning the page in the hopes that the threats against her would be resolved. Despite the downs, faith remains a strong theme throughout, enabling the characters to endure. With more challenges incoming, this family history isn’t over yet and I hope subsequent books will see the characters experience more peace and happiness. I’m interested to hear the end of Annabelle’s story and look forward to seeing what future books bring.
