Andreas Von Der Heydt has written what I expect to be a highly influential book on what it means to 'coach' and be a 'Coachee' in today's climate and working landscape, and the positive impact it can have for the organisation and all involved.

As someone who has been both 'Manager as Coach' and 'Coachee', I found the research study undertaken to be fascinating, and welcomed the rigorous, scientific approach to the study. The research, methodology, and the conclusions are set out in a clear and precise way and are easy to understand. It would be great to see these outcomes being implemented and incorporated by all types and sizes of organisations, as I truly believe there would be benefits for all.

The pace of the book was just right for me and enabled me to really think about the findings in each part, and how I can personally take them on board and incorporate them into my own practice going forward. The findings of the study will be useful for those who are just starting out, and also for the more experienced who are looking to update their practice, and to take on board what it means to coach and work in a post-pandemic era.

A really useful book that should be in every managers library.

This is a great book for any leader or manager wanting to develop a coaching culture in the workplace. The author provides a very thorough deep dive into the literature and thought-leaders in the field, and carefully references the ideas to the modern workplace. The chapters on analysing the needs of the individual and the business and installing a coaching plan are very well structured and easy to work through. There are some great activities to work through. I particularly liked that the book isn't a direct 'How To' but provides ideas and learning opportunities to create a bespoke coaching programme that works for every work place, every coach and every coachee....
