There have been significant fast track changes in the subject of community medicine after the fifth edition of the Textbook of Community Medicine was published in 2017. An imperative need was felt to incorporate recent developments and advances in the field. As the whole-scale revision of the text is an uphill task, an attempt has been made to present the updated material and recent advances in the form of a supplementary book of a manageable volume and at an affordable price, hence this Update.
