In this charming and original photo book, Dutch photographer Marlonneke Willemsen uses studio style images to transform zoological facts into a highly poetic document of becoming and growing on our planet. Starting with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs and moving right through to reptiles and fish, Willemsen photographs different animals during the very first weeks of their lives, capturing the wonder and fragility of new life and celebrating the diversity of the natural world.
