In the rapidly developing field of nitric oxide research, it appears nearly impossible to make meaningful synthesis, except through the bias of given points of view or of a specific analytical method. This book focuses on the use of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy of nitrosylated metalloproteins complexes in nitric oxide research. The basic chemical reactivity and physical properties of nitric oxide are summarized. Recent use of EPR Spectroscopy detection of nitrosylated metalloproteins in cell cultures, in animal models of pathologies, and its potentialities for understanding health-disease switches in humans, are discussed.
