A Descriptive Grammar of the Lubecker Bible of 1494 Synopsis

A description of the basic grammatical system of the Middle Low German in the Luebecker Bibel of 1494, as edited by Gerhard Ising in Die niederdeutschen Bibelfruehdrucke (Berlin, Akademie Verlag, 1961-1971). Primary attention is focused on a synchronic analysis of the phonological structure and a taxonomic description of morphological data. For historical comparison, the phonemes as posited are also traced to their respective Germanic sources. Graphemics is treated as it relates to synchronic phonology.
