English summary: In the Doctrine of Being, Hegel demonstrates that the infinite cannot be abstractly opposed to the finite, but has to contain the finite if it is not to be just a finite itself. However, this does not mean that only everything which is finite should be dissolved in the absolute, nor on the other hand can the finite itself be declared the infinite. Thus the difficult problem Hegel has to solve is to develop a model in which the absolute is neither abstractly opposed to the finite nor identified with it in a trivial manner. Burkhard Nonnenmacher shows how Hegels Science of Logic and his mature system attempt to solve this problem.

German description: In der Seinslogik entwickelt Hegel, dass das Unendliche dem Endlichen nicht abstrakt entgegengesetzt werden kann, sondern das Endliche in sich enthalten muss, soll es nicht selbst nur ein Endliches sein. Weder soll damit aber nur alles Endliche im Absoluten aufgelost werden, da das Absolute ansonsten nur noch die Nacht ware, in der "alle Kuhe schwarz sind", noch darf andererseits das Endliche selbst zum Unendlichen erklart werden. Die schwierige Aufgabe, die es fur Hegel zu losen gilt, ist deshalb, ein Modell zu entwickeln, in dem das Absolute dem Endlichen weder nur abstrakt entgegengesetzt ist noch trivial mit diesem identifiziert wird. Burkhard Nonnenmacher zeigt, wie Hegels "Wissenschaft der Logik" und sein reifes System diese Aufgabe zu losen versuchen.
