English summary: Lawmaking in the Nazi era had an essential and up to now often underestimated importance for the implementation of political and ideological goals. It did however not consist of parliamentary legislation in the traditional sense, but rather of a complex patchwork amalgamation of governmental laws, Fuhrer decrees, ministerial regulations and decrees by special committees. In view of this background, is it possible to identify a specific legislative technique, orderly methods and typical characteristics of lawmaking in the Nazi era? Bernd Mertens seeks answers to these questions, thereby contributing to the broader issue of the ways and means by which the Nazi regime ruled. The book gives insights into the inner workings of Nazi rule from a perspective which had previously rather been in the shadow of the monstrous injustice of the Nazi state.
