Iain Banks’ first novel and the one that put him among some the best cult novelists. It is compelling stuff, with some gruesome and grisly deeds and wonderfully dark humour and one of the best endings of any novel to date. A must read.
The Wasp Factory is a bizarre, imaginative, disturbing, and darkly comic look into the mind of a child psychopath - one of the most infamous of contemporary Scottish novels.
