A riveting thriller about two men, one on either side of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, brought together by chance and separated by world politics, whose lives are changed and endangered by circumstances that they could never have imagined.

In his debut Thompson delivers a fast paced thriller exploring unique aspects of the Cold War with an intriguing international dimension: In a desperate attempt to save a failing Soviet Union the leadership of the USSR devise a plan to bring about the political destabilisation of the United Kingdom using the British Trade Union movement in general and the Coal Miners Union in particular.

In an adventure reminiscent of a John Le Carre' novel the heroes steal top secret documents from the office of the head of the Russian secret service that identifies agents and traitors on either side of the Iron Curtain and use them as their passport to a new life in Britain - the problem is; 'how to get there'?
