This modern supernatural horror novel revels in its menace. While Mina and her parrot strive to remain hidden from the Watchers, an archaeological excavation threatens to reveal all. Author A.M Shine is oh-so clever at twisting and corkscrewing tension until it thrums through you. This is the sequel to his debut The Watchers which is now a film produced by M. Night Shyamalan. You really do need to have read The Watchers before starting this novel in order to fully appreciate and have the full range of emotions flood through you as you read. As with the first novel, it feels as though this could be very real and that is what makes it so unnerving. This cleverly links to the legend of the Tuatha de Danann and I always enjoy novels that stray into myths as it heightens feelings of apprehension. Stay in the Light is an atmospheric, incredibly intense read that calls to those who love to dive headfirst into fear and suspense when they read.
The sequel to THE WATCHERS, now adapted into a major motion picture produced by M. Night Shyamalan from critically acclaimed Irish horror writer A.M. Shine.
