Following the dramatic events at the end of Stars on the Blue Horizon, David finds himself trapped in southern Europe, sheltering in the lengthening shadows that are forged in the amber sky above.

But how long can he stay hidden in one place? Will he ever manage to linger in the darkness long enough to find the peace of sleep, as the fierceness of the sun keeps the dark away?

Only in his dreams can he be with the girl he loves, but her whereabouts remain a mystery to him, and as time passes, his obsession with his dream girl collapses into a nightmare more brutal than one he could ever imagine...
