LoveReading Says
August 2017 Book of the Month
A clever, suspense-filled story told in reverse, from day 15 through to day 1, and boy does the premise work! Nicolette returns home after a letter from her dementia-ravaged father suggests an answer to the disappearance of her best friend ten years before. A second girl goes missing while Nicolette is home, and as the story twists backwards through time, how on earth it didn't trip over itself I really don't know. Megan Miranda, in her first novel for adults, skilfully handles the tour through time, I felt completely absorbed and focused as each new tidbit of information changed my feelings and sent my thoughts spinning. As the story increased in intensity and neared the climax, I almost couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. ‘All the Missing Girls’ hooked me from the get-go, it pushed all of my thoughts into one big pot of edgy, stimulating tension, ensuring a great, great read. ~ Liz Robinson
