‘Three In A Bed’ is a fast moving, immensely enjoyable and riveting tale set during the summer of 2014 when the phone hacking scandal was front page news. Romping through the heady and fascinating world of newspapers, this work of fiction focuses on the people behind the headlines. Sam runs a Sunday newspaper and is ready to splash the details of a sordid affair all over the front page, however all is not as it seems, as the plot thickens and tension increases, danger lurks just around the corner. Every change of day is heralded by actual newspaper headlines, not just an eyebrow raising and amusing aside, they are a reminder of the power of words and what it is that sells newspapers. It feels as though Andrew Croker has intimate knowledge of this arena, he throws you right into the middle of the gobsmacking action and keeps you there. This is a thrilling and believable tale, set in what feels like a very, very real world. ~ Liz Robinson

A 'Piece of Passion' from the publisher...
'By the time you reach the end of Andrew Croker’s brilliant debut thriller, you wonder why there aren’t whole shelves of novels featuring tabloid journalists. Sam Plummer, the embattled editor of a post-Leveson red-top, smashes the negative stereotypes. He’s a genuine hero: resourceful, smart and full of self-deprecating humour and we can’t help but cheer him on as he rediscovers – despite the surrounding murk and sleaze – a fierce commitment to nailing the truth. Delivering a whip-smart and frequently hilarious confection of stings, spies, honey traps and Costa criminals, Croker plays a blinder, taking the news headlines and transforming them into a sophisticated and deeply satisfying page-turner.' ~ John Mitchinson, Unbound

Three in A Bed The Shady World of the Tabloids. Sex. Spies. Entrapment. Synopsis
Sam Plummer is the undisputed tabloid king. But someone is trying to dethrone him. As news editor of one of the biggest red-top Sunday papers, Sam Plummer is no stranger to sex and scandal. When he breaks a sensationally juicy, full-blown political scoop - a Tory peer exposed in a Black Sea love nest with a pair of stunning Ukrainian women a third his age - everything goes spectacularly wrong. Caught at his own game, Sam is cast adrift - but he refuses to go quietly, convinced there is a larger conspiracy at play. Pursued by the paparazzi, police and MI6, and finding he is now the one in the spotlight, Sam must dig deep into a shady world of sex, spies and entrapment to uncover the plot to destroy him. To discover the truth, he must rely on his resourceful ex-military bodyguard, his long-retired mentor, and the disarmingly beautiful lawyer he was just starting to get to know...but can he be sure that anyone is as they seem? In this high-octane comedy thriller, Andrew Croker reminds us you can't always believe what you see in the news...or in real life.

“I loved it. It reads like a red top version of State of Play." Mark Austin, ITN
“A story so on the money that if it hasn’t happened already, it will be happening soon. Three in a Bed is a thrilling romp through the unholy trinity of media, police and security services, and the dominance of character assassination in British politics.” Peter Jukes, Author of The Fall of the House of Murdoch
“Hugely enjoyable. A sizzling romp packed with cunning, devious, bright characters”. Tim Willcox, BBC
"A page-turner that paints a thoroughly entertaining picture of the competitive, conniving, cantankerous world of newspapers that may soon belong to another age." Paul Kelso, Sky News

About Andrew Croker
Andrew Croker has spent forty years in the front line of sports marketing and media. In the nineties he globetrotted for super-agent Mark McCormack, then tried and failed over lunch in New York to sell his doomed internet startup to Rupert Murdoch. Undaunted (right idea, wrong time) he went on to found the world's leading digital sports content business. Three in a Bed is his first novel.
