When Emily Lloyd burst onto the movie scene as a teenager, she was hailed as the next Marilyn Monroe. Her stunning performance as precocious Lynda Mansell in David Leland's Wish You Were Here thrust her into the spotlight, winning her, among other awards, a BAFTA nomination. Hollywood beckoned and Emily landed high-profile roles alongside A-listers like Bruce Willis and, notably, Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It. However, behind the cheeky grin that seduced Tinseltown, Emily was struggling with a debilitating mental disorder. Now, in her deeply honest autobiography, Emily describes the highs and lows she experienced during her tumultuous acting career.
Emily Lloyd has starred in 19 films since making her movie debut at 16 in David Leland's acclaimed Wish You Were Here in 1986--a performance that earned her a BAFTA nomination and best actress awards from both the Evening Standard Film Awards and the National Society of Film Critics. She moved from America and, amongst other films, appeared in Cookie alongside Peter Falk, In Country opposite Bruce Willis, Chicago Joe and the Showgirl with Kiefer Sutherland, and in A River Runs Through It, directed by Robert Redford. Since returning to the UK, she has starred in When Saturday Comes with Sean Bean and Welcome to Sarajevo with Woody Harrelson. On stage she has appeared in productions of Hamlet, playing Ophelia, and Maz Klapper - A Life in Pictures.
