A thinking person’s historical whodunit set in 1930’s London in the aftermath of World War I. It is the second in an on-going series starring Maisie Dobbs, a delightful character who is developing nicely. With lots of historical detail and atmosphere, it’s suspenseful, easy to read and highly rewarding.
Comparison: Alexander McCall Smith, Anne Perry.
