About

Before Adam Synopsis

First published in "e;Everybody's Magazine"e; between 1906 and 1907, "e;Before Adam"e; is a novel by American writer Jack London that centres around a man who longs for the simpler life of an early hominid. Through his musings, the man adopts an alter ego belonging to the 'Cave People', a group that exists in the early days of human evolution together with the more advanced 'Fire People' and the wild 'Tree People'. John Griffith London (1876 - 1916), commonly known as Jack London, was an American journalist, social activist, and novelist. He was an early pioneer of commercial magazine fiction, becoming one of the first globally-famous celebrity writers who were able to earn a large amount of money from their writing. London is famous for his contributions to early science fiction and also notably belonged to "e;The Crowd"e;, a literary group an Francisco known for its radical members and ideas. Other notable works by this author include: "e;Martin Eden"e; (1909), "e;The Kempton-Wace Letters"e; (1903), and "e;The Call of the Wild"e; (1903). Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new biography of the author.
