"This beautifully thoughtful book encourages you to find the joy in movement to help heal and enhance your life."
Helpful, uplifting, and motivating, this is the next book in The Healing Power of series, following on from Sound, and Scent. They form such a lovely, kind, and inspiring collection with the choices of text, colour, and illustrations forming a connective whole. In Movement, author Hannah Glancy greets you in the most encouraging and friendly way: “Welcome to a place where exercise matters purely for the joy and enhancement it brings to our lives.” She explains that fitness wasn’t always her passion, tells us why she started to exercise, that she is now a yoga teacher, and enjoys movement in many forms from drumming to hiking and trekking. She confirms: “when we embrace the joy of movement we unlock a transformative experience that can heal our bodies, minds and souls”. She adds: “movement is whatever we make it, whatever we find pleasure in doing”. Most of us know that movement is beneficial to us, the book explains why and helps you to connect in the most meaningful way for you. We look at the science, emphasising the mind-body connection, and at balance in the mental and emotional power of movement. As with the rest of this series, this book allows you access as an individual and in a holistic way which means that wherever and whoever you are, you can find something here that will be of benefit. From practical pointers, through to activities with illustrations, and wellbeing practices, there are a myriad of different ways to fall in love with movement. I really do respect and appreciate this series, and this latest book is another I can highly recommend. The Healing Power of Movement is a wonderfully nurturing and inviting, yet stimulating guide and introduction to activities and physical exercise.
