Flatmates Laura and Tyler (female) ‘get-off-their-faces’ in and around Manchester. Brilliantly written, incredibly funny with some amazing snippets of erudition it is narrated by Laura, engaged to teetotaller Jim and hard at work preparing for their wedding. That is the background. The foreground is all about Tyler taking Laura off partying. They meet all sorts of people in chance drink and drug-fuelled encounters, with the really funny bit of the novel being her description of regaining consciousness and remembering the night before! It is just wonderfully done. You’ve got to read it. ~ Sarah Broadhurst
