LoveReading Says
Review by Hugh, a 15 yr old fan:
Lies is the latest installment to the Gone series, in which
relationships are tested and new measures are resorted to in order to
stay alive. The balance of power has become more important than ever as
the characters struggle with each other, and fear drives them to do
things that they would never normally do: but their lives are far from
normal. The plot is gripping and although it is a long book, I found
myself reading for hours at a time. It is also more complex than the
first two, as the line between right and wrong becomes ever more hazy,
but this makes it more intriguing, and the reader has to think more.
There are unpredictable twists in the plot, which increase the drama
and the thrill of the story. It is a relentless high tempo plot with
new events and situations introducing interesting elements to the story.
Many questions are left unanswered, and it ends with a brilliant
twist which leaves the reader eagerly anticipating the next in the
series, Plague.

Lies Synopsis
It happens in one night: a girl who died now walks among the living, Zil and the Human Crew set fire to Perdido Beach, and amid the flames and smoke, Sam sees the figure of the boy he fears the most - Drake. But Sam and Caine defeated him along with the Darkness - or so they thought. As Perdido Beach burns, battles rage: Astrid against the Town Council; the Human Crew versus the mutants; and Sam against Drake. And the prophetess Orsay and her companion, Nerezza, are preaching that death will set them all free. As life in the FAYZ becomes more desperate, no one knows who they can trust.

About Michael Grant
Michael Grant is the co-creator and coauthor of the series of books and publishing phenomenon Animorphs and the Everworld series. Michael has spent much of his life on the move. Raised in a military family, he attended ten schools in five states, as well as three schools in France. Even as an adult he kept moving, and in fact he became a writer in part because it was one of the few jobs that wouldn't tie him down. His fondest dream is to spend a year circumnavigating the globe and visiting every continent, including Antarctica. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife, Katherine Applegate, and their two children, (Jake and Julia), and far too many pets.
