About

Tribes of the Liberian Hinterland (Classic Reprint) Synopsis

Excerpt from Tribes of the Liberian Hinterland

Although Schwab would be the first to dis avow a professional status in anthropology, he has read widely in his own field and is a keen and experienced observer of native char acter, customs, arts, and industries. While he is most intimately acquainted with the Bulu tribe of the Cameroun, it seemed to us, when we were planning an expedition to Liberia, that George Schwab and Mrs. Schwab (always his efficient collaborator) were best fitted to conduct the project. The present volumes are a part of the results of that expedition.
