"This is a perfect window into the experience of those suffering from speech disorders."
This is a perfect window into the experience of those suffering from speech disorders, particularly Developmental Language Disorders (DLD). Damien's passion for raising awareness of the issues is evident on every page and he eloquently champions early interventions and provides recommendations to reduce the loneliness and isolation for those with DLD.
Writing a book is a challenge for anyone but despite his setbacks Damien eloquently describes the world from a DLD perspective, the psychology of the disability and his own journey to acceptance. He provides a well balanced view of life for those with speech disorders and the repercussions of a failed support system.
This book is essential for anyone who needs or wants to understand life for those with a speech disorder and for those who love and care for them. Damien's work is a voice for all those who are so desperate to be heard. A must read.
