It is 1946 and Glasgow is sweltering in a late summer heat wave and in a wave of corruption as the city needs rebuilding, and then the murders begin - wow ... this "Gunfight at OK Coral" style ending is quite something. Brodie is not the new Rebus as the publisher suggests, Ferris not the new Rankin. He is his own man and his hero is most definitely not an anti-hero. This is a great, gripping, exciting read. Highly recommended.
