20 Synopsis

Over the past twenty years, judges such as Robert Penn Warren, Raymond Carver, Joyce Carol Oates, Margaret Atwood, Russell Banks, Tobias Wolff, Alice McDermott, Frank Conroy, and Bharati Mukherjee have selected the best collections from the hundreds submitted annually for the Drue Heinz Literature Prize, one of the most prestigious awards of its kind. Winning has helped launch the careers of a score of previously undiscovered authors, many of whom have enjoyed great commercial success as well as critical acclaim, including Stewart O'Nan, Edith Pearlman, David Bosworth, Lucy Honig, W. D. Wetherell, Jane McCafferty, Rick DeMarinis, and Adria Bernardi.
