LoveReading Says
Punchy and provocative, this had me questioning right, wrong, and that murky grey area in-between. Vigilante Rita Marsh finds herself way out of her depth after a school reunion reveals information she can’t help but be incensed by. Author Nilesha Chauvet has created a memorable protagonist. She balances her character traits and personality with great care, creating a hard edge but also letting you see under the surface to intricate layers of vulnerability. It wasn’t easy to decide how I felt about Rita and that is key, it is very cleverly handled, my thoughts were rumpled, questioning, uncertain. The taut, sharp plot kept corkscrewing through the pages, while the tension screamed as it rocketed along. This novel has been chosen as a Liz Pick of the Month as while deliberately rousing and thought-provoking, it is handled with compassion and sensitivity. There is a real depth to The Revenge of Rita Marsh, it’s dark, in-your-face, and compelling as heck.
