Curtis Sittenfeld's follow up to the fabulous Prep is another coming of age tale, although set in an entirely different world to the privileged sphere of boarding school she previously depicted. The Man of My Dreams follows Hannah Gavener through adolescence to her late twenties, delving into the complex relationships she forms with men. If you want a light and fluffy 'boy meets girl' read then this isn't one for you, but if you're after an insightful novel exploring love and relationships then I'd recommend it.
