These are supernatural short stories from a very special man, although to be honest, I prefer his full-length work, but these are an excellent introduction to that. You might have caught some of them being read on BBC Radio 4 during Halloween week last year. Spooky, chilling, macabre or just plain dark, the collection also contains two good-sized novellas to get your teeth into. Nobody is writing like him at the moment. They are great.
